That time of year again

Winter is of course when starlings give their astonishing, if brief, afternoon performances as the light fades. Here are a few from the strange marshy lands around Wem in north Shropshire. All these pictures are as shot, with no image manipulation.

Marching through Presteigne on the centenary of the end of the Great War

Earlier this year I was commissioned to document the large-scale renovation of a big private house in Britain. Lately I’ve been enjoying watching the team of scaffolders as they complete their enormous task of constructing a huge and intricate web of metal around and over the whole building.
